Zetron Acom EVO Console System
Download PDF: Zetron Acom EVO
Acom EVO represents the next generation in dispatch consoles. The Acom EVO Console System offers the reliability, feature capabilities, intuitive operation, and flexible configuration for which Acom is known.
Zetron understands that the changing world of dispatch means that more and more dispatching is distributed across customer sites and sometimes is even mobile. Acom EVO offers the best of both worlds allowing the Acom EVO dispatch software to be connected in either a 'Standard' or 'Feature' mode console setup.
The 'Standard' mode console requires only an IP connected laptop and a headset. Ideal for mobile command or for temporary dispatch operations, this mode still utilises all the available features of the Acom EVO console with reduced console peripheral requirements.
Fore more traditional dispatching, or a more full-featured console, 'Feature' mode provides the full suite of audio routing capabilities and console audio peripherals using a USB-connected Media Dock.
Acom EVO's Media Dock provides a dual-headset operation and up to four speaker connections using Zetron's purpose-built dispatching speakers. The Media Dock also includes local digital I/O capability, desk microphone, instant recall recorder, foot switch, local telephone, and auxiliary audio interfacing.

Introduction
At the heart of any mission-critical communications system is the dispatch console. The console system needs to be:
-
Reliable - With proven resilience to failure and built in redundancy.
-
Efficient - When lives are on the line, you want resources dispatched with minimal delay.
-
Highly Interoperable - Diversity of interfacing means all resources are accessible no matter what technology communications system are bing used.
-
Flexible - All dispatch operations are different. It's desirable to have a common platform yes accommodate the differing needs of each agency.
System Benefits
Scalable platform - Modular architecture allows your system to grow along with the needs of your communications facility, regardless of the size of the operation.
Bandwidth efficiency - Acom EVO's bandwidth requirements are considerably lower than most other IP console systems by utilising a redundant media controller to control all selections, patching and monitoring. This provides a combined audio stream to the console rather than separate streams for each intended radio / telephony connection. This makes a significant difference when using dispatch consoles at many different locations.
Fault-tolerant, robust, reliable operations - N+1 system architecture allows for failover operation, even in the most complex IP network environments. The system is designed to keep operating even if a fault condition occurs. Acom EVO's reliability reduces maintenance costs and unscheduled repairs.
Highly Interoperable - Acom EVO supports communications across a wide spectrum of radio and telephone equipment and other communications devices, including Project 25 (TIA CSSI, DFSI, and AFSI), OpenSky, iDEN, TETRA, NEXEDGE, SMARTNET), SmartZone and LTR as well as numerous legacy systems. Allowing telephone and radio communications to run on one platform eliminates the need for multiple systems.
Encryption capable - Acom EVO supports DES and AES encryption on its P25 interfaces, including FIPS 140-2 via an add-on encryption module. Key management is an important part of any encryption capable system and Acom EVO supports the use of a Key Fill Device or connection to a Key Management Facility used for OTAR.
Efficient, intuitive, feature rich - The Acom EVO dispatch software can be configured to accommodate a range of common business practices and operations. System resources can be consolidated into a single GUI and customised to suit a particular user or role. This improves productivity and reduces training costs.
Simple one-touch operation can be used to contact individuals or groups making it easy to learn and operate.
Acom EVO's Call Management feature improves the ease and efficiency with which dispatchers can view and manage calls. Call lists can be set up to display activity that pertains to a specific dispatcher, call type (both radio and telephone), call priority, or calls to or from specific numbers. Calls can also be highlighted to ensure instant recognition. In addition, dispatchers can make quick call backs directly from the call list.
Acom EVO offers a feature-rich telephony communications package. This includes functionality that integrates with standard analogue subscriber and exchange ports, as well as ETSI ISDN and E1 QSig. It also includes:
-
Automatic Call Distribution
-
Call Event Applications
-
Recorded Voice Announcement
-
Interactive Voice Response
Acom EVO Manager Configuration Application
Easy Console Setup - Console-audio routing is easy to set up in Acom EVO. The Acom EVO manager configuration tool is used to build a routing matrix for a position. Any input audio source can be configured to appear at any output source. The Acom EVO manager also offers a built in IP diagnostics tool to ensure the connected IP network is running as expected.
Profile based login - Acom EVO's log-on capabilities range from basic user screen startup to full, authenticated log-on control.
Configurations can be assigned to operators automatically, based on their log-on profile, or they can be modified "on-the-fly", as circumstances warrant and permissions allow. In addition, Supervisors can use network management resources to create, activate and publish configurations.
Any number of screen configurations can be created and assigned to any console position. This includes configurations to reflect available resources, dispatch functions, duty shifts and schedules, supervisory and maintenance roles, and training exercise simulations.
CAD Interfacing - The system offers a standardised interface to integrate third party CAD systems. This capability allows calls to be initiated and patched or conferenced directly from the CAD system.
Acom EVO will also pass call event information to the CAD including unit ID's for incoming transmissions.
Fault and Management Reporting - Acom EVO's integrated alarm and reporting management tools can be configured to either link to external contacts or provide a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) trap. This greatly simplifies system error diagnosis and system maintenance.
Acom EVO also incorporates a Network Management capability allowing a variety of reports can be generated quickly and easily. This helps managers monitor system and dispatcher performance and also helps detect and diagnose potential issues.
