The SUB10 Liberator V320 is an extremely cost effective, Point-to-Point wireless Ethernet link operating in the 60GHz band*. Applications, permanent or temporary, can be very varied: CCTV support, campus connectivity, back-haul, LAN extension, circuit redundancy, LAN extension, disaster recovery, events etc.
Applications
- LAN extension
- Redundant access
- Campus connectivity
- Disaster recovery
- Wireless backhaul
- Centralisation of IT infrastructure
- Temporary connections during events
- Mesh and multipoint networking.
Benefits
Easy Installation - Plug and play techniques reduce installation complexity. Connection, power to radio, is via Cat5e Ethernet cable with RJ45 terminations, supporting standard PoE. This allows simple installation of the 2 'box' solution. Link alignment is quick and easy, aided by an optical alignment tool.
Network Performance - Subject to correct installation**, 320 Mbps (full duplex) is supported at the full range of the link, with carrier grade levels of availability. Excellent frequency re-use is possible within a limited area, owing to short operating ranges and narrow beam antennas.
Licence Free Operation - The system has been approved for operation by a large number of countries.
System Administration - To monitor link status and the traffic data, the user can access link statistics either via the HTML user interface, or by integration into a network management tool via SNMP. Software upgrades, improving functionality can be done easily and remotely, with the minimum of interruption to service.
Security - The proprietary radio interface virtually eliminates the risk of unauthorised access to transmitted data. Additionally, a high level of data security is inherent in the product, owing to relatively short ranges, limited by signal absorption due to atmospheric oxygen. Finally the use of high gain/narrow beam width antennas increases the difficulty of signal interception.
Notes:
* The 60GHz band may be licence exempt or lightly licensed. Purchasers to check their local regulations.
** Unobstructed Line-of-Sight (LoS) path. Link availability and maximum range will be reduced by precipitation and some other atmospheric conditions.
